Welcome to my new blog...I'll be updating with more photos soon. Please feel free to post comments, ideas, orders!

'In Flight', 14k yellow gold, sterling silver: This piece was a school project, designing for a client. My designated client was girly and fun so after 10 pages of sketches, she chose this butterfly design. The intention, and I believe sucessful, was to make the ring three-dimentional and seem like the butterfly was ready to fly off the wearer's finger. Assembled from three different pieces; etched butterfly design on the silver, step-rolled/tapered square gold wire and thin round wire with flattened ends for the antenna. A final touch was added, but after this photo was taken: liver of sulpher to show the depth contrast of the butterfly detail. My family bought this ring for my Aunt in PEI as the butterfly is an important symbol in Mi'Kmaq culture.
